Falling Skies alum Connor Jessup has signed up to return to John Ridley ABC anthology series American Crime for its third season, TVWise has confirmed.
Plot details about season three are being kept firmly under wraps, though series creator John Ridley previously revealed that it would be set in North Carolina and will deal with labor issues, economic divides and individual rights.
Jessup first joined American Crime in season two, taking on the critically acclaimed role of Taylor Blaine – a teen grappling with his sexuality who is assaulted by members of the basketball team at a party. There are no details about his season three character.
“Connor Jessup is one of the smartest and most talented young actors working today”, executive producer Michael McDonald said in a statement. “John and I believe Connor’s performance will be even more emotionally shocking than last year as his character helps shed new light on the opiate addiction epidemic that is plaguing America”.
He is the latest American Crime star to sign-up for season three. Other returning cast members include Regina King (Southland), Felicity Huffman (Desperate Housewives), Timothy Hutton (Leverage) Lili Taylor (Hemlock Grove) and Richard Cabral (Bosch). The anthology drama is produced by ABC Studios. Series creator John Ridley and Michael McDonald serve as the executive producers.
