AT&T’s Audience Network has handed out a ten episode straight to series order to Ice, a drama series about the treacherous and colorful world of diamond traders in downtown Los Angeles from independent studio Entertainment One (eOne) and Antoine Fuqua’s Fuqua Films, TVWise has learned.
Ice is described as “a high-impact, serialized crime drama” that follows the Green Family as they plunge into the underbelly of the Los Angeles diamond trade. Jake and Freddy are half-brothers brought together by their father Isaac, the patriarch behind G&G Diamonds, and their uncle Cam. After wildcard Freddy kills a prominent diamond dealer, his brother Jake must bail him out and save the family business while maneuvering amongst jewelry thugs, blood diamond deals, false certificates, and the Feds.
The drama project, which has been in the works for the better part of two-years, hails from Antoine Fuqua and is being penned by Gang Related and Murder In The First scribe Robert Munic. Entertainment One and Fuqua Films are producing in association with AT&T. The executive producers are Robert Munic and Antoine Fuqua, the latter of whom is also set to direct the first episode. Entertainment One will handle global distribution.
