Independent distributor DCD Rights has hired Passion Distribution executive Phillipa Chuter as Senior Acquisitions Executive, in anticipation of a factual acquisitions push. Chuter will report directly to DCD’s Head of Acquisitions Pilar Perez.
In her new role, Philippa Chuter will be responsible for leading DCD’s factual push, key to which will be identifying strong factual content with global appeal. She will also develop relationships with new and existing producers and working closely with the sales team to further expand its content slate.
Philippa joins from Passion Distribution, where she most recently served as Acquisitions Executive and was responsible for securing new producer relationships and content for international distribution. She started her career in the industry at BBC Worldwide in Sydney, Australia, before moving to Passion in 2014.
“We’re delighted to welcome Philippa to this new dedicated factual role. The international potential for high quality, globally-relevant factual programming is continuing to grow”, said Nicky Davies Williams, CEO of DCD Rights. “Continued increases in our programme acquisitions funding and the expansion in the drama catalogue and co-production have been key accelerators in our decision to expand our team. Philippa’s appointment will enable Pilar to focus her efforts on growing our drama slate.”
