Jon Huertas, who starred in all eight seasons of Castle as Detective Esposito, has been tapped for a recurring role on NBC’s upcoming drama series This Is Us, which hails from Dan Fogelman and 20th Century Fox Television.
This Is Us is described as a “refreshingly honest and provocative” drama that follows a unique ensemble whose paths cross and their life stories intertwine in curious ways. We find several of them share the same birthday, and so much more than anyone would expect.
Huertas – repped by Innovative Artists, Marsh Entertainment, and Meyer & Downs, LLP – joins a cast that also includes Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan and Ron Cephas Jones. He will play Mike, Jack’s (Ventimiglia) co-worker and best friend. Deadline was first to report the casting news.
Dan Fogelman, the writer behind both Galavant and The Neighbors, created This Is Us and penned the script for the pilot. He also serves as an executive producer alongside Charlie Gogolak, Glenn Ficarra, Jess Rosenthal, John Requa and Ken Olin. 20th Century Fox Television is the studio and their sister division Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution are handling global sales.
