Amazon Prime Video Sets Premiere Date For Paris Fashion Drama 'The Collection' – TVWise

Amazon Prime Video UK has announced that their first original drama series The Collection will premiere on Friday September 2nd.
In a departure from how they unspool their US originals, Amazon has opted to air episodes of The Collection weekly. New episodes will continue to made available to Amazon Prime UK subscribers every Friday, through to the season one finale in late October.
The Collection is set in 1947 and tells the story of an illustrious Paris fashion house, emerging from the dark days of the Occupation, now ushering in a new golden age of design and business. This gripping family saga, centred on two very different brothers, exposes the grit behind the glamour and the treachery beneath the trappings of this empire, and all who work there.
The eight part drama series was created by Oliver Goldstick and is being produced by Lookout Point and Artis Pictures in association with BBC Worldwide, who are international sales outside of the UK. The cast is being led by Richard Coyle (Crossbones) and Tom Riley (Da Vinci’s Demons) and also includes Frances de la Tour (Outlander), Mamie Gummer (The Good Wife) and Jenna Thiam (The Returned).
“We’re incredibly excited to be bringing this new, original series to Amazon Prime members in the UK,” said Jay Marine, Vice-President of Amazon Prime Video EU. “We have a collection of all-star British, American and European talent on this show, both in front and behind the camera. Headed by Oliver Goldstick, the team have created a taut family drama playing out in a sumptuous universe within the glamour of 1940s Paris.”
