Netflix has released the first trailer and key art for Sranger Things, their 1980s set supernatural drama starring Winona Ryder which is set to premiere globally on the streaming service on Friday July 15th.
Stranger Things chronicles the search for a young boy who vanishes into thin air under highly suspicious circumstances. His mother opens an investigation into the boy’s disappearance with local authorities that unravels a series of mysteries involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.
Winona Ryder (Show Me A Hero) leads the cast as Joyce, the missing young boy’s mother who discovers a strength she never knew she had in the wake of her sons disappearance. Other cast members include Matthew Modine, David Harbour, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer, and Millie Brown.
Described as “a love letter to the ubiquitous cult classics of the 80’s”, the drama series was created by Matt Duffer & Ross Duffer and is being produced in-house by Netflix Originals. In addition to creating the series and penning the scripts, The Duffer Brothers will also direct and serve as executive producers alongside Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen.
