Netflix Releases Trailer & Poster For 'Marco Polo' Season 2 – TVWise

Netflix has released the trailer and poster for the upcoming ten episode second season of their period drama Marco Polo, which is set to premiere globally on the streaming service on Friday July 1st.
Marco Polo, from John Fusco and The Weinstein Company, follows the famed explorer’s adventures in Kublai Khan’s court in 13th Century China, and the dark and tempestuous battle for the expanding Mongol empire. The series stars Lorenzo Richelmy, Michelle Yeoh, Benedict Wong, Joan Chen, Zhu Zhu, Tom Wu, Olivia Cheng, Claudia Kim, Rick Yune, Remy Hii, Mahesh Jadu and Uli Latukefu.
The trailer hints at what’s to come from the new season. Kublai, having grown the Mongol empire after capturing the walled city, is now facing a challenge to his throne which could lead to an all-out civil war; while Marco Polo is admitted to the order of the Mongol Knights as a reward for saving the Khan’s life last season. There is also growing tension between Khan and his Empress over the continued presence of Marco Polo in the royal court.
