Independent production company Blink Films is making a move into factual entertainment with the hire of respected producer Jon Lloyd as Creative Director for Popular Factual, TVWise has learned.
Jon Lloyd will work with Blink co-founders Dan Chambers and Justine Kershaw as well as Sarah Sapper in London and Brad Kohlenstein in the United States to spearhead the Popular Factual division and expand the company’s slate to include factual entertainment, formats and features.
“Blink’s reputation for innovative, quality programming is second to none and I’m delighted to be joining them at a time of strategic expansion into new areas of non-scripted programming”, Jon Lloyd said in a statement. “I’m excited to start working with Dan and Justine and the teams on both sides of the Atlantic to create iconic new series and formats.”
Jon Lloyd joins Blink Films from Boomerang, where he most recently served as executive producer, overseeing the indie’s production slate. He has previously held key creative roles at ITV Studios, RDF and Studio Lambert and has produced a string of award-winning formats including Come Dine With Me, Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents and Four In A Bed.
“Jon has produced some of the UK’s most notable and award-winning popular factual series and formats and we are thrilled that he is joining our expanding creative team to broaden our reach into new genres”, added Dan Chambers and Justine Kershaw. “We are confident he will help to rapidly build the company’s portfolio of productions, including our increased push into factual entertainment and features for both a UK and global audience.”
