Based on the classic children’s book by Raymond Briggs, Fungus The Bogeyman follows the titular character, played by Timothy Spall, as he menaces and frightens those on the surface (known as dry-cleaners) as Bogeymen and have always done. Sky’s adaptation will consist of three hour-long episodes, which are being penned by Tom MacRae. Fungus The Bogeyman is set up at Imaginarium Studios and Double Negative’s TV division DNeg TV. Ben Evans is set as the producer, while Chloe Sizer and Jonathan Cavendish are executive producing. The Hour and Downton Abbey helmer Catherine Morshead is the director.
