ITV Sets Premiere Date For 'Downton Abbey' Christmas Special – TVWise

The final Downton Abbey Christmas special will premiere on ITV on Christmas Day (Friday December 25th) at 8:45pm, it has been announced.
In this year’s two-hour Christmas special, Mary endeavours to build bridges with her sister while Edith’s secret continues to pose a threat, despite having nothing left to lose. As Henry settles into the role of husband and stepfather, finding his place at Downton proves more difficult. Below stairs, Carson faces some personal challenges, which prove that even he is not invulnerable to change. As the family and servants prepare to welcome 1926, they celebrate an unforgettable New Year’s Eve together at the great house.
The final ever episode of Downton Abbey wass produced by Carnival Films and stars Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, Elizabeth McGovern, Jim Carter, Penelope Wilton, Phyllis Logan, Laura Carmichael, Lily James, Allen Leech, Brendan Coyle, Joanne Froggatt, Lesley Nicol, Sophie McShera, Robert James-Collier, Kevin Doyle, Raquel Cassidy, Sue Johnston, Jeremy Swift, Douglas Reith, Fifi Hart and Zac and Oliver Barker. Patricia Hodge (Miranda) guest stars as Bertie Pelham’s mother.
