The Catherine Tate’s Nan New Year’s special will premiere on BBC One on Wednesday December 30th at 10:25pm, it has been announced.
Created and played by Catherine Tate, Nan follows Britain’s favourite foul-mouthed OAP. The special, which was originally set for a 2016 bow, was penned by Catherine Tate, Brett Goldstein and Dan Swimer; and is produced by Tiger Aspect and WAF Liberty Productions. Sophie Clarke-Jervoise, Catherine Tate and Kristian Smith are the executive producers, while Geoff Posner directed.
In the New Year’s special, When the freehold on Nan’s block of flats in London’s newly fashionable East End is bought up by some ruthless property developers, all the residents join together to fight for their survival. All except Nan that is, who having bought her own flat in the 1980s finds herself holding a unique position of power over the developers and their oily representative, the unfortunate Charles Wilmott.
