TCM UK Pushes Back 'Longmire' Season 4 By Two Weeks, Extends Time-Slot To 90 Minutes – TVWise

The new season of Longmire will be premiering in the UK a little later than expected.
UK broadcaster TCM UK has pushed back the launch of the fourth season by some two weeks and instead of premiering in early November as previously announced, the new 10 episode run will now debut on Sunday November 15th. Additionally, the time slot for the show has been extended to 90 minutes, with new episodes airing on Sunday nights from 7:30pm – 9pm.
The extended time-slot was necessitated by the fact that Netflix, who commissioned the fourth season, did not place any running time restrictions on the series’ producers, as previous U.S. network A&E did for the first three seasons. Given that, the running time of new episodes varies from 44 minutes to a little over an hour (without commercials) and the new 90 minute time-slot will allow TCM UK to air the season four episodes in their entirety, without any sizeable edits or cuts.
Longmire follows Walt Longmire, the Sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Longmire is a widower who, following his wife’s death, lost interest in his job as Sheriff. But with the help of one of his deputies he re-commits to his job and decides to run for re-election, only to find that one of his own men is running against him. The drama series is produced by Warner Horizon Television and stars Robert Taylor (The Matrix), Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica), Lou Diamond Phillips (Stargate: Universe), Bailey Chase (Damages), Cassidy Freeman (Smallville) and Adam Bartley.
The show’s fourth picks up moments after the season three finale. Walt Longmire, having found out who was behind the murder of his wife, succumbs to his darker impulses and takes off in pursuit of the killer with murder on his mind. Meanwhile, Branch Connally, the deputy who Walt fired for erratic, violent behavior, believes he has already figured out who the real culprit is. But during his confrontation with this suspected killer, a gun goes off. Now the audience will finally learn what happened, and whether Walt can be stopped before he makes a fatal choice.
