History UK has picked up the UK broadcast rights to factual series Hunting Hitler after striking a deal with sister company A+E Studios International, TVWise has learned. The eight episode series will premiere on History UK on Monday November 2nd at 10pm.
Hunting Hitler follows a team of renowned investigators, led by former CIA Case Officer and frequent CNN contributor Robert Baer and UN War Crimes investigator war crimes investigator Dr. John Cencich, as they set out to uncover the truth about what happened the Adolf Hitler at the end of World War II.
The generally accepted account is that Hitler committed suicide in his Bunker in Berlin as Soviet forces were marching towards the capital in April 1945. However, recently declassified FBI documents, including a memo from legendary FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, reveal that there was evidence to indicate that Hitler did not die in Berlin and instead escaped to Argentina, as did a number of Nazi war criminals including Adolf Eichmann.
Produced for the U.S. History network, Hunting Hitler is produced by Karga Seven Pictures. Emre Sahin, Sarah Wetherbee and Kelly McPherson executive produce for Karga Seven Pictures. Jason Wolf also serves as Executive Producer, while Tim Healey executive produced for History. The eight parter is set to air on A+E’s History channel in more than 180 countries later this year.
