Channel 5 has given the green-light to a six episode documentary series fronted by Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford which explores the luxurious life-styles of the super-rich.
Titled Eamonn & Ruth: How The Other Half Live, the six episode series explores the lifestyles of the super-rich – the world’s multi-millionaires and billionaires – and exactly what it is they spend their money on. The documentary series is being produced by Spun Gold Television, with Maureen Goldthorpe serving as the executive producer. Benedetta Pinelli is the series producer.
“We’re delighted to have Eamonn and Ruth on Channel 5″, said Channel 5’s Factual Commissioner Guy Davies, who ordered Eamonn & Ruth: How The Other Half Live. “They are our guides into this secret world, and on the way round they’ll have a quick look under the sink and in the broom cupboard. They’re TV greats, and we’re so happy to have secured their first big factual series.”
“We all wonder sometimes what life would be like if we were really, really rich – we dream about what we’d buy and how we’d live if money was no object”, Ruth said. “If you fantasise about owning a private jet, an enormous house, fast cars and expensive jewellery this is the show for you. What do the SUPER wealthy really spend their millions on and does it make them happy? Eamonn and I can’t wait to find out!”
While Eamonn Holmes added: We thought we knew what wealth was – but we had no idea. There is a lot more of it about than you think and the real journey in this series is joining us to watch in awe as to what people spend it on.”
