Nathan Phillips (Wolf Creek), Britne Oldford (American Horror Story) and Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck) have been set as the lead in Hunters, Syfy’s 13 episode alien counter-terrorism drama from The Walking Dead executive producer Gale Anne Hurd.
Hunters follows Flynn, a highly decorated FBI Special Agent whose search for his missing wife leads him to a secret government unit assembled to hunt a group of ruthless terrorists – shadowy figures that may or may not be from this world. The series is described as “tonally dark”, offering a unique crossover twist between gritty crime drama and sci-fi thriller.
Nathan Phillips has been cast as Flynn, a headstrong Baltimore FBI agent with a dark past trying to piece together the disappearance of his wife; Britne Oldford will play Regan, who is one of the government’s most valuable operatives and may be keeping secrets of her own; while Julian McMahon has been set as McCarthy, an unhinged junkie and Hunter cell leader.

Hunters is based on Whitley Strieber’s best-selling novel Alien Hunter and is being penned by Natalie Chaidez, who serves as showrunner and will executive produce alongside Gale Anne Hurd and Emile Levisetti Valhalla Entertainment and Universal Cable Productions are producing. Ernest Dickerson is set to direct the pilot. Production on Hunters is now underway for a 2016 premiere.
