BBC One has locked down the main cast for One Of Us.
Juliet Stevenson (The Village), John Lynch (The Fall), Joanna Vanderham (The Paradise), Laura Fraser (Breaking Bad), Adrian Edmondson (Prey), Georgina Campbell (The Ark), Joe Dempsie (Skins) Julie Graham (Shetland), Gary Lewis (Filth), Steve Evets (Rev) and Kate Dickie (Prometheus) are set to star in the four episode drama which hails from The Missing creators Jack and Harry Williams.
One Of Us is set in the Highlands of Scotland & Edinburgh and follows the Elliot and Douglas families, who live side by side in rural Scotland and are rocked by a horrific double murder. Their lives are shattered and their relationships, both between and within the grieving families, are tested to the limit. In the search for answers, skeletons are unearthed and old wounds are reopened, as honesty, loyalty and morality is all brought into question.
“I’m thrilled to be playing Louise in One Of Us as she is such an intriguing character”, said Juliet Stevenson. “When I read the first script, it immediately gripped me as it’s such a unique and compelling story. I can’t wait to start filming in Scotland.”
The scripts for the four-part series were penned by Jack and Harry Williams, who are also executive producing through their production company Two Brothers Pictures. BBC Drama In-house Production is producing through BBC Scotland, with filming set to commence in Scotland next Monday. Colin Wratten is the series producer, while the Head of BBC Drama Production England Christopher Aird will executive produce. Poldark helmer William McGregor is attached to direct.
