'Dave Gorman: Modern Life Is Goodish' Gets Two Season Pickup At Dave – TVWise

UKTV’s Dave channel has handed out a two-season renewal to Dave Gorman: Modern Life Is Goodish. The two year pickup, which consists of an order for two eight episode seasons, will see the series through to its fifth season. Notably, this is the second two-season renewal in a row for the show, after UKTV granted a similar order in 2014.
Loosely based on Gorman’s critically acclaimed live show, Dave Gorman: Modern Life Is Goodish sees Gorman using his own unique blend of stand up & visual storytelling to share his observations and venting his frustrations on a wide range of modern world phenomena. The series is produced by Liberty Bell, with Nick Martin and James Fidler serving as producers. The executive producers are Jamie Isaacs and Iain Coyle.
The two season order comes on the heels of the strong ratings performance for Modern Life Is Goodish‘s second season, which, per UKTV, reached 7.8 million individuals, with an average audience of 577K (peaking with 651K for episode 6, up +102% on the slot average). The series also successfully attracted the key young and upmarket audience to the channel with 43% 16-34 and 56% ABC1s.
“I’m absolutely cockahoop that we’re doing more of these”, said UKTV’s Commissioning Editor Iain Coyle, who commissioned the fourth and fifth season. “Dave continues to innovate, through his ability to see things that seem to be hiding in plain sight, and sheer unrivalled hard work. His dedication and genius shine through in these shows, that’s why folk love them”.
“It’s a fantastic testament to Dave Gorman that we are continuing to build this series” added Dave’s General Manager Steve North, who ordered the new run of episodes which will enter production in 2016 and 2017. “The audience loves his intelligence and humorous take on modern life. Modern Life is Goodish is now part of a solid foundation of original commissions on Dave”.
