TLC UK has given the greenlight to If Katie Hopkins Ruled The World, a seven episode show featuring the former Apprentice star as she goes up against a ranges of celebrities, comedians, experts and a studio audience. The series is set to air on TLC UK this August.
If Katie Hopkins Ruled The World sees Katie Hopkins and a panel of well-known celebrities, comedians and high profile experts debate a wide range of topics, including weight, class, money and benefits to family, sex, relationships and education. Each episode will be moderated by a guest.
This series has been a long-time coming as TLC has been looking for a vehicle for Hopkins ever since her special My Fat Story drew in huge ratings back in January. If Katie Hopkins Ruled The World is being produced by Mentorn Media, with Mark Proctor and Mark Roberts serving as the executive producers.
“The show is a unique forum to thrash out the issues being ranted about in pubs, on Twitter and in living rooms across Britain”, said Clare Laycock, Head of TLC UK. “Views will be questioned, rules will be disputed and opinions will be opposed in what promises to be an exhilarating watch – perfect for TLC.”
“Love her or loathe her, everyone has an opinion on Katie Hopkins. Her points of view get us all talking”, added TLC UK’s Vice-President of Production and Development Sarah Thornton, who commissioned the series. “I’m looking forward to working with Katie, Big Minded and Mentorn Media on what will no doubt be a bold and lively debate where Katie’s claims can finally be challenged in a comedic, cheeky and brilliantly fun format.”
