Nick Jr. Takes US Rights To CBeebies' 'Teletubbies' Reboot – TVWise

Nick Jr. has acquired the US broadcast and video-on-demand rights to CBeebie’s upcoming Teletubbies reboot after agreeing a deal with international distributor DHX Media.
In addition, Nick Jr parent Nickelodeon has also acquired all 365 episodes of the original series for Noggin, their recently launched mobile subscription service for pre-schoolers.
Original commissioned by the BBC owned CBeebies with a 60 episode order last Summer, the new take on Teletubbies will once again feature costume characters Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa & Po and combine beloved features of the original series with new developments and CGI animation.
“There has been overwhelming international interest in the new Teletubbies series, and appetite for the classic episodes remains exceptionally strong”, said Josh Scherba, DHX Media’s SVP of Distribution. “With Nickelodeon on board for the US, as well as CBeebies in the UK and further deal announcements pending, we are building incredibly strong foundations for the next-generation Teletubbies.”
