ITV’s new three-part drama Black Work will premiere on Sunday June 21st at 9pm, it has been announced.
Created by Matt Charman, Black Work follows Jo Gillespie, a police officer whose husband Ryan, an undercover policeman, is shot dead in mysterious circumstances. She sets out to uncover the truth behind his death, but soon finds Ryan has been tracking a man who was recently released from prison and no police department will claim responsibility for the operation he was running. Jo must uncover who Ryan was working for and why as she deals with her grief.
The three-part drama is being produced by Endeavour & Poldark indie Mammoth Screen and stars Sheridan Smith (Mrs Biggs), Kenny Doughty (Vera), Honor Kneafsey (Our Zoo), Matthew McNulty (Jamaica Inn), Douglas Henshall (Shetland), Geraldine James (Utopia), Phil Davis (Whitechapel), Oliver Woollford (Utopia), Sharon Duce (Coronation Street), Andrew Knott (Spooks: Code 9), Ace Bhatti (Eastenders), Carla Henry (Homefront), Lisa Dillon (Cranford), Vinette Robinson (Sherlock), and Ben-Ryan Davies (Waterloo Road).
