Upfronts 2015: First Look At The CW’s ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’

TVWise continues our Upfronts coverage with a first look at The CW new comedy series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

Originally developed as a half-hour for premium cable network (and The CW’s corporate sibling) Showtime, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend tells the story of Rebecca Bunch, a successful, driven, and possibly crazy young woman who impulsively gives up everything – her partnership at a prestigious law firm and her upscale apartment in Manhattan – in a desperate attempt to find love and happiness in that exotic hotbed of romance and adventure: suburban West Covina, Calif. (it’s only two hours from the beach! Four in traffic).

As a result of its move from Showtime (who passed on the project earlier this year) to The CW, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is being re-tooled as an hour-long series and will be paired with Jane The Virgin on the network Fall schedule to create a Monday night comedy. The comedy stars Rachel Bloom and is being produced by CBS Television Studios. Rachel Bloom, Aline Brosh McKenna and Marc Wenn serve as executive producers.
