Sky Atlantic Picks Up UK Rights To Jack Black Comedy 'The Brink', Sets June Premiere – TVWise

Fresh off of announcing a premiere date and simulcast plans for the second season of True Detective, Sky Atlantic has confirmed that, thanks to their long-standing out-put deal with HBO, they have picked up the UK rights to comedy series The Brink, starring Jack Black (School Of Rock).
The Brink focuses on a geopolitical crisis and its effect on three disparate, desperate men: Secretary of State Walter Larson, lowly Foreign Service officer Alex Talbot and ace Navy fighter pilot Zeke Tilson, who must pull through the chaos around them to save the planet from World War Three.
The ten episode series was created by Roberto Benabib & Kim Benabib and stars Jack Black, Tim Robbins, Pablo Schreiber, Aasif Mandvi, Maribeth Monroe, Eric Ladin, Esai Morales and Geoff Pierson. British actors Rob Brydon, Meera Syal and Michelle Gomez are also set to appear in the first season. Jerry Weintraub, Roberto Benabib and Jay Roach serve as executive producers.
The Brink is set to premiere on Sky Atlantic on Monday June 22 at 10pm, less than 24 hours behind the show’s debut on HBO in the United States.
