MTV UK Orders Jobseekers Format 'Hire Me', Renews 'Ex On The Beach', 'Geordie Shore' & More – TVWise

MTV is continuing to build their Summer schedule. Fresh off of picking up a new music series and renewing Ibiza Live and Soundchain, MTV UK has ordered Hire Me, a new 8 episode factual entertainment format from Argonon owned indie Remedy Productions.
Hire Me follows one young jobseeker being handed the chance to land a dream job but these kids aren’t model employees – their inability to hold down a job has driven their parents to despair. Set to air this Summer, the 8 episode series is produced by Remedy, with Sophie Wurzer Williams serving as the executive producer.
The commission is a significant one as Hire Me is Remedy’s first factual-entertainment production – an area that the Argonon owned indie has been looking to move into since hiring Sophie Wurzer Williams as Head of Factual Entertainment last May.
“MTV is the perfect home for this breakout format that places family relationships under the microscope like never before”, said Sophie Wurzer Williams. “With a number of exciting projects on our slate, our development team has now expanded and we will be announcing further commissions shortly.”
Elsewhere, MTV UK has handed out renewals to reality hits Ex On The Beach and Geordie Shore, both of which will return for their new seasons later in the year. The channel has also given the green-light to a Geordie Shore spin-off Judjge Geordie, featuring Vicky Pattison; and new dating format Car Crash Couples, which is being produced by Channel 5’s in-house production division 5Production/
“MTV’s entertainment schedule is on fire this summer,” commented Kerry Taylor, Senior Vice President and General Manager of MTV UK. “We’re really excited to be partnering with some of the UK’s best known production houses to bring our fans a stunning blend of brand new relatable commissions – Car Crash Couples, Hire Me and Judge Geordie – which are sure to resonate with our audiences and evolve into instant ratings winners and fuel the social media conversation. Our returning hit shows, Geordie Shore and Ex on the Beach have already established a loyal and passionate following and we’re confident that they will continue to gain momentum.”
