TNT is adding to the main cast of their Sean Bean fronted spy drama Legends. The Fall alum Aisling Franciosi has joined the cast of the TNT’s series as a series regular for its upcoming ten episode second season.
Based on the novel by Robert Littell, Legends follows Martin Odum (Sean Bean), an undercover agent working for the FBI’s Deep Cover Operations (DCO) division who has the uncanny ability to transform himself into a completely different person for each job. Fox 21 Television Studios produces with Howard Gordon and Ken Biller executive producing.
Franciosi, who plays Katie Benedetto on BBC Two’s The Fall, has been cast as Kate Crawford, the child of Chechen parents who speaks and looks like a typical British teen. She has a troubled relationship with her mother and stepfather and is searching for her own identity. She is repped by Paradigm and the Lisa Richards Agency. In addition to The Fall (which is returning for a third season) here previous credits include Quirke and Vera.
The casting of Aisling Franciosi comes as Legends is going under a number of changes for its upcoming second season, with David Wilcox having exited and Perception executive producer Ken Biller taking over as showrunner. In addition to Franciosi, the series has also added Winter Ave Zoli (Sons of Anarchy), Steve Kazee (Shameless) and Kelly Overton (True Blood) as regulars.
Winter Ave Zoli has been set as Gabriella Laska, a Czech detective whose fierce drive hides behind a free-spirited Bohemian laissez-faire; Steve Kazee will play Curtis Ballard, a by the book FBI agent who is haunted by his past; while Kelly Overton has been cast as Nina Brenner, an ambitious CIA officer who is tough and refuses to cave to pressure from her rival liaison in British intelligence.
