The Good Wife and Emily Owens MD alum Mamie Gummer has landed a recurring role on the upcoming second season of WGN America’s atomic bomb drama Manhattan.
From Sam Shaw and Thomas Schlamme, Manhattan is set against the backdrop of the mission to build the world’s first atomic bomb in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The drama series is produced by Skydance Television, Tribune Studios and Lionsgate Television and stars John Benjamin Hickey, Olivia Williams, Daniel Stern, Ashley Zukerman, Rachel Brosnahan, Katja Herbers, Alexia Fast, Christopher Denham, Harry Lloyd, Michael Chernus.
Mamie Gummer will play Nora, a beautiful, street-smart spy sent to the Hill to serve as a liaison to Jim Meeks (Christopher Denham), who was revealed the be a soviet spy in the show’s first season finale. Per WGN America, Nora will use her charm and sexuality to pass atomic secrets to the Soviets.
She is the latest actor to board the show’s second season, which begins production this month in New Mexico. As previously reported, CSI star William Peterson is set to make his TV comeback on the show’s second season playing the series regular role of Colonel Emmett Darrow, the enigmatic new ranking military officer at Los Alamos.
