First Image: BBC Two's Iain Banks Adaptation 'Stonemouth' – TVWise

BBC Two has released the first image from their upcoming two-part Iain Banks adaptation Stonemouth.
An adaptation of the Iain Banks novel of the same name, Stonemouth is a rite of passage tale set in the fictional Aberdeenshire village of Stonemouth which follows Stewart Gilmour, who returns to the village for his best friend’s funeral. Run out of town a year earlier by his girlfriend’s family, Stewart is forced to face up to his own past whilst uncovering the sinister truth behind his friend’s apparent suicide.
Penned by Prime Suspect scribe David Kane, the two-parter is being produced by BBC Scotland & Slate North and stars Christian Cooke (Magic City), Charlotte Spencer (Line Of Duty), Peter Mullan (Top of The Lake), Gary Lewis (Gangs of New York) and Sharon Small (Mistresses). Wallander helmer Charles Martin is directing, while Christopher Aird and Andrea Calderwood are serving as executive producers.
The first look image shows lead actors Christian Cooke, Charlotte Spencer and Peter Mullan in character as Stewart Gilmour, Ellie Murston and Ellie’s father Don, respectively.
