'CSI: NY' Star Melina Kanakaredes Lands Recurring Role On CBS' 'Extant' – TVWise

Melina Kanakaredes has reportedly landed a recurring role on CBS’ Halle Berry fronted Summer sci-fi drama Extant.
The veteran actress, who starred as Detective Stella Bonasera for six seasons on CSI: NY, will appear in two episodes of Extant‘s upcoming second season, TVLine reports.
Melina Kanakaredes will play Dorothy, a judge who also happens to be the estranged wife of bounty hunter JD Richter (new cast member Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
Produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin TV, Extant’s second season will see the series undergo a creative shift, with the series moving away from Molly’s (Halle Berry) work at the ISEA and instead focus on the search for her alien son who is threatening the human race.
Melina Kanakaredes joins a cast which, in addition to Halle Berry, also includes Pierce Gagnon, Grace Gummer, Camryn Manheim, Goran Visnjic, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, David Morrissey, Lyndon Smith and Necar Zadegan. Extant’s second season is set to premiere on CBS on Wednesday July 1st at 10/9c.
