HBO has debuted the first trailer for the upcoming fourth season of Veep.
Created by Armando Iannucci & Simon Blackwell, Veep follows Selina Meyer, who becomes Vice President of the United States (or Veep as the position is colloquially known) only to discover the job is nothing like she expected, but everything she was warned about. The comedy series stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Anna Chlumsky, Tony Hale, Reid Scott, Timothy Simons, Matt Walsh, Gary Cole and Kevin Dunn.
Veep’s ten episode fourth season, which is set to premiere on Sunday April 12th, picks up from the season three finale which saw Selina Meyer acceding to the Presidency. HBO has yet to confirm any plot details for the new season, though Hugh Laurie (House) is understood to have joined the cast as Selina’s Vice-President.
The new trailer, which runs 90 seconds, shows Selina Meyer, now President of the United States, coming to grips with her new position as the leader of the free world. Highlights include a disagreement with the Joint Chiefs and a malfunctioning teleprompter during the State of the Union.
