Strike Back co-lead Philip Winchester has set his sights on his next job.
The actor, whose long list of television credits also include 24: Live Another Day, Crusoe and Fringe, has been cast as the lead in NBC sniper drama Endgame, which hails from The Librarians creator John Rogers, Deadline reports.
Endgame is set in Las Vegas and follows Alex (Winchester) a former sniper turned security expert who is falsely accused of murdering his wife. He is soon drawn into a conspiracy and is offered his freedom in exchange for providing his services to sin city’s rich and powerful.
John Rogers, whose TNT series The Librarians was just renewed for a ten episode second season, created Endgame and is penning the script for the pilot, which is set up at Sony Pictures Television and Davis Entertainment. The executive producers are John Davis, John Fox and John Rogers.
Philip Winchester, repped by Independent Talent and UTA, is understood to have fielded multiple offers this pilot season, now that Strike Back is coming to an end (the show’s final season airs this Summer). The casting also comes less than 24 hours after his former co-star Sullivan Stapleton was tapped to star opposite Jaimie Alexander in NBC’s thriller pilot Blindspot
