The fourth season of Showtime’s drama series Shameless will receive its UK premiere on More4 on Monday February 23rd at 01:10am, it has been announced.
Shameless was developed for US television by John Wells and follows the daily lives of the members of the blue collar Gallagher family who live in the South Side of Chicago. The working class family struggles to make ends meet while Frank, the patriach of the Gallagher clan, can usually be found at the local bar spending what little money they have. The drama series, stars William H. Macy, Emmy Rossum, Justin Chatwin, Jeremy Allen White, Cameron Monaghan, Steve Howey, Emma Kenney, Joan Cusack, Ethan Cutkosky, Shanola Hampton and Laura Slade Wiggins.
The show’s 12 episode fourth season picks up a few weeks after season three left off – with the Gallaghers braving another brutal Chicago winter and waiting on the medical fate of their flawed, permanently pickled patriarch, Frank. With Fiona in a stable job and relationship, and Lip enrolled in college, can the Gallaghers finally realize the middle class American dream?
This is the latest (or earliest, depending on your point of view) time-slot that the Emmy award winning series has been given in its tenure on More4, with the show’s second and third seasons having previously aired in the 11pm time-slot. The move is not an entirely unexpected one, however, given that the US adaptation has not been a big ratings performer for the Channel 4 owned digi-net.
