'Ground Floor' Alum Skylar Astin To Star In ABC's NBA Comedy Pilot From Dan Fogelman – TVWise

Skylar Astin has lined up his next job.
The actor, who starred on both season of the recently cancelled TBS series Ground Floor, has been cast as one of the two leads in ABC’s as-yet untitled NBA comedy from Galavant and The Neighbors creator Dan Fogelman, TVWise has learned.
The as-yet untitled NBA comedy is described as a fish-out-of-water story which follows Mo, a rookie who doesn’t speak English and Jason, a translator who doesn’t understand basketball.
Skylar Astin will play Jason, a sweet and slightly wimpy guy who was previously with the Peace Corps who is living in his parent’s basement when he lands a job at an NBA team as a translator. This, despite the fact that he know absolutely nothing about basketball.
The single-camera comedy, which landed a pilot order at ABC back in January, is set up at ABC Studios and is being penned by Casey Johnson and David Windsor. The executive producers are Dan Fogelman, Aaron Kaplan, Mike Tollin and Peter Gruber.
