Alex Norris is heading to Comedy Central UK.
The Viacom International Media Networks backed channel has named Alex Norris as their new Creative Director. He will be responsible for developing and implementing a clear creative vision and strategy for the Comedy Central UK brand.
Norris will also lead the creative team across 360 projects and generate communications that pushes the channel’s brand and key values to its core 16-34 audience. He succeeds Rafaela Perera who departed the role last Summer to take up a key post at BBC Worldwide.
“Alex is an incredible creative talent with superb comedy credentials and I am delighted that he is joining the team”, Comedy Central UK’s Vice-President of Creative, Marketing and Communications, to whom Alex Norris will report. “It is an exciting year for Comedy Central UK with our original commissions; Drunk History, I Live with Models, Brotherhood and Russell Howard’s new stand up show.”
Alex Norris joins Comedy Central UK from Red Bee Media where he spearheaded creative for a wide range of comedy series featuring such talent as Rob Brydon, James Corden, Michael McIntyre and Dave Gorman. “As someone who has been seriously obsessed with comedy all my life, the chance to join the team at Comedy Central and work on making funny stuff funnier all day every day is a dream come true”, Norris said. “I can’t wait to get started!”
