UKTV has announced plans to preview the newest season of legal dramedy Suits via on-demand service UKTV Play, ahead of the linear broadcast on Dave.
Suits kicks off its fourth season on Dave on Thursday January 15th at 10pm, but the opening episode will be available as of today (Friday January 9th) at 9am on UKTV Play and Sky On Demand. After the season begins its linear broadcast on Dave, new episodes will be available on UKTV Play as part of the 7 day catch up service.
“Suits has the charm, wit and intelligence that most series can only dream of, so where else would you find it but Dave?”, said Steve North, General Manager of Dave. “We’re celebrating the launch of the fantastic new series by exclusively premiering the first episode on our brand new on demand player, UKTV Play, before the series begins airing on the telly.”
This is the second year in a row that UKTV has previewed the new season of Suits via their on-demand services. Last year, they also made the premiere episode available online a week ahead of the linear broadcast. The move is one that has become popular in recent years as a way of driving interest in a high profile new series.
The fourth season of Suits see a major shift in the firm as Mike Ross leaves Pearson Specter and heads to Wall Street as an investment banker, quickly finding himself on the opposite side of a takeover battle versus his mentor, Harvey. Complications arise and tensions mount as former flames enter the halls of Pearson Specter. Guest stars this season include Michael Gross, DB Woodside, Brendan Hines, Melanie Papalia, Neal McDonough and Eric Roberts.
