The CW Renews 'Arrow', 'The Flash', 'Supernatural', 'Jane The Virgin' & More – TVWise

The CW’s scripted line-up will look largely the same next season.
At their executive session at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour in Pasadena, California, the network today announced that they had renewed eight of their scripted series .
The shows getting early pick ups for next season are Arrow, The Flash, Supernatural, Jane The Virgin, The 100, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals and Reign, all of which will feature on the network’s schedule for the 2015-2016 season.
In one fell swoop The CW has picked up every single one of the series that featured on their Fall schedule for next season. The move, while not altogether unprecedented, is an extremely rare one and is a real sign of confidence from the network’s top brass.
“Each of these series have helped define what The CW is today, a network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy adult audience,” said Mark Pedowitz, President of The CW. “By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season’s storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees The CW will have more proven original series for our fall, midseason and summer 2016 line-ups.”
The only new scripted series’ at the network not to get an early renewal was the yet-to-premiere iZombie and The Messengers. That said, there was some news for the pair, with the network slotting official premiere dates for both shows. iZombie is set to debut on Tuesday March 17th at 9/8c, while the series premiere for The Messengers has been set for Friday April 10th at 9/8c.
