Archive BBC One Sets Premiere Date For ‘The Casual Vacancy’ – TVWise

BBC One’s three-part J.K. Rowling adaptation The Casual Vacancy will premiere on Sunday February 15th at 9pm, it has been announced.
The Casual Vacancy centres on Pagford, a seemingly idyllic English village with a cobbled market square and ancient abbey. Behind the pretty façade, however, is a town at war: rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils.
The adaptation, which is a co-production with HBO, was penned by The Crimson Field Scribe Sarah Phelps and is being produced by Bronte Film and Television, the independent production company run by JK Rowling and Neil Blair, both of whom also serve as executive producers.
The three-part drama features an all star cast which includes Michael Gambon (Harry Potter), Keeley Hawes (Line of Duty), Julia McKenzie (Notes On A Scandal), Rufus Jones (W1A), Rory Kinnear (Penny Dreadful), Keeley Forsyth (Coronation Street), Abigail Lawrie, Monica Dolan (Sightseers), Simon McBurney (Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy), Richard Glover (A Field In England), Marie Critchley (In The Flesh) and Michelle Austin (Secrets & Lies).
