The third season of Canadian science-fiction series Continuum will receive its UK premiere on Syfy UK on Wednesday January 28th at 10pm, it has been announced.

Continuum follows Kiera Cameron, a cop from the future who finds herself trapped in the present day after a group of fanatical terrorists escapes their planned execution by vaulting back in time to 2012, inadvertently sweeping Kiera along the way. The drama series is produced by Reunion Pictures in association with Shaw Media and stars Rachel Nichols, Erick Knudsen, Victor Webster, Tony Amendola, Stephen Lobo, Lexa Doig, William B. Davis, Roger Cross, Luvia Peterson, Terry Chen and Omari Newton.

The show’s third season is poised to pick up from the events depicted in the season two finale, in which Alec Sadler hijacked Kiera’s chance to get home, in order to save Emily, the girl he loves, from certain death. This act of desperation condemned Kiera to incarceration by the Freelancers, who are ‘collecting’ time travelers to protect history. Now, Kiera must face the consequences of Alec’s betrayal and somehow escape the Freelancers.
