Kirsten Dunst & Jesse Plemons To Star In 'Fargo' Season 2 – TVWise

ER‘s Kirsten Dunst and Breaking Bad alum Jesse Plemons have been cast as series regulars in the second season of FX’s Fargo.
Fargo is a mini-series franchise based on the feature film of the same name by Joel & Ethan Coen. The 10 episode second season of the series is set in 1979 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Luverne, Minnesota, where a young State Police Officer Lou Solverson, recently back from Vietnam, will tackle an all new “true crime” case.
Kirsten Dunst plays Peggy Blomquist, a small town beautician with big city dreams who is trying to figure out who she really is and what she really wants as she struggles with traditional societal expectations; while Ed Plemons has been cast as Peggy’s husband Ed, a butcher’s assistant, who wants to be supportive of his wife’s self-discovery, even if he doesn’t quite understand it.
The duo are the first to be officially cast in Fargo‘s second season. The show’s freshman run featured such stars as Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Bob Odenkirk and Oliver Platt, not to mention breakout star Alison Tollman. FX noted that other regular roles still being cast include that of Lou Solverson, Betsy Solverson, four year old Molly Solverson and State Police Officer Ben Schmidt.
The new run of episode will again be penned by Noah Hawley, who is also returning as showrunner and will executive produce alongside Joel & Ethan Coen, Warren Littlefield and John Cameron. Fargo is produced by MGM Television and FX Productions, with MGM Television handling global distribution.
