Osy Ikhile has joined the cast of Syfy’s six-hour miniseries Childhood’s End.
Based on the novel of the same name by Arthur C. Clarke, Childhood’s End follows the peaceful alien invasion of Earth by the mysterious “Overlords,” whose arrival begins decades of apparent utopia under indirect alien rule, at the cost of human identity and culture.
Exact details of Osy Ikhile’s role are being kept under wraps, but it is understood that he is playing one of the principle leads. The British actor, repped by Curtis Brown, recently starred in Warner Bros’ latest take on Tarzan, while his long list of television credits in the UK include Fresh Meat, The Fear and Misfits.
Ikhile is the second actor to board Childhood’s End since it received a green-light at Syfy back in September as part of the network’s recommitment to scripted drama. Game Of Thrones’ Charles Dance is set to topline the miniseries as Karellen, the ambassador for the Overlords, who makes first contact with the (yet to be cast) Earthling Ricky Stormgren.
The casting news was first reported by Deadline.
