Lifetime’s ‘Witches Of East End’ Cancelled After Two Seasons

Say goodbye to Witches Of East End.

Lifetime has cancelled the Fox 21 produced drama series after two seasons, TVWise has learned.

Inspired by the book of the same name, Witches of East End was penned by Maggie Friedman and centers on the mysterious Beauchamp family, immortal witches who possess great untapped powers. The drama series stars Julia Ormond, Mädchen Amick, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Rachel Boston, Eric Winter, Daniel DiTomasso, Jason George, Virginia Madsen and Christian Cooke.

This marks the latest decision that Lifetime has made about their current crop of scripted shows. In addition to Witches of East End, the network recently opted not to renew freshman drama The Lottery after one low-rated 10 episode season; while back in September they picked up a third season of Devious Maids.

Even with the cancellations, the network will not be hurting for originals scripted drama. Lifetime has a number of shows in the pipeline including Lizzie Borden: The Fall River Chronicles, a limited series which is a sequel to their TV movie Lizzie Borden Took An Ax; Damien, a follow up to The Omen from The Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara; and Un-Real, a show-within-a-show starring Shiri Appleby which is set to air in early 2015.
