Comedy Central UK is moving forward with a new multi-camera sitcom.
The VIMN backed broadcaster has handed out an 8 episode series order to I Live With Models, TVWise has learned. The series pick up follows on from the not-for-broadcast pilot, which was completed earlier this year.
I Live With Models is set in Miami and follows Tommy, a chubby barista, whose perfect hands catapult him into the glamorous but ruthless world of modelling. He can take everything his new career throws at him but the hard part is dealing with his new roommates – a tough-talking catalogue model, a muscled lothario and a neurotic catwalk diva.
The comedy series is produced by Ash Atalla’s indie Roughcut TV and stars David Hoffman (New Girl), Brianne Howey (Twisted), Rebecca Reid (Children’s Hospital), Joseph May (Episodes) and Eric Aragon (Desperate Housewives). The executive producers are Ash Atalla, Dan Hine, Jill Offman and Lourdes Diaz. Production on the series is set to commence next month in front of a live studio audience.
“It’s not often we get the chance to combine two of the world’s favourite things into one show – beautiful people and laughter”, said Ash Atalla, Managing Director of Roughcut TV. “We hope I Live With Models will bring a sexy smile to viewers for years to come.”
