Channel 4 Hands Series Order To Julia Davis Comedy 'Morning Has Broken' – TVWise

Channel 4 is teaming up with Julia Davis for a new comedy series.
The broadcaster announced at their upfront today that they handed a six episode order to Morning Has Broken, a comedy created by and starring Davis.
Morning Has Broken follows Gail Sinclair, the ‘Queen of Daytime’ and star of Good Morning… with Gail Sinclair. After eight glorious years of high ratings and winning awards, things begin to go wrong for Sinclair when the programme begins to lose viewers and tensions break out within the production team.
Julia Davis, whose long list of comedy credits includes Little Britain, Gavin & Stacey and her short-lived (though highly rated) Sky Atlantic series Hunderby, penned the six episodes and will lead the cast in the role of Gail.
The show was commissioned by Channel 4’sHead of Comedy Phil Clarke and Commissioning Editor Rachel Springett and is being produced by Brown Eyed Boy – the indie behind ITV’s Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi fronted Vicious. Gary Reich is set as the series producer, while Dan Clark is attached to direct.
