ABC has firmed up the details of their Winter schedule.
The network has announced that 8 episode series Marvel’s Agent Carter – which is set to the bridge the fall and spring runs of Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. – will premiere on Tuesday January 6th at 9/8c; while musical comedy Galavant, which will bridge the fall and spring runs of Once Upon A Time, will debut on Sunday January 4th, airing back-to-back episodes in the 8-9pm time-slot.
Based on the One Shot from the Iron Man DVD and developed for television by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, Marvel’s Agent Carter is set in New York in 1946 and follows Agent Carter, the character from Captain America and Captain America: Winter Solider, as she undertakes missions for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve) at the behest of Howard Stark in New York. The Marvel and ABC Studios produced series stars Hayley Atwell, James D’Arcy, Chad Michael Murray, Enver Gjokaj, Dominic Cooper and Shea Whigham.
Created by Dan Fogelman, Galavant is a musical fairy tale which follows the handsome Prince Galavant and his quest for revenge over the king who stole his one true love. The comedy is produced by ABC Studios and stars Joshua Sasse, Timothy Omundson, Vinnie Jones, Karen David, Mallory Jansen, Luke Youngblood and Genevieve Allenbury.
In addition to setting premiere dates for Marvel’s Agent Carter and Galavant, ABC has also confirmed the return dates for a number of their drama series. The networks Thursday nights Shonda Rhimes block of Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder is back on January 29th. Once Upon A Time will return to its Sunday night 8pm time slot on Sunday March 1st, while Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns on Tuesday March 3rd.
