Sony Entertainment Television Fast Tracks 'Franklin & Bash' Season 4 – TVWise

The fourth season of TNT’s legal dramedy Franklin & Bash is being fast tracked for UK audiences.
Sony Entertainment Television has announced that the 10 episode fourth season, which only wrapped its run on TNT in the United States last night, will premiere on Thursday November 6th at 10pm – a week after the season three finale airs on the SPT backed channel.
Created by Kevin Fall and Bill Chais, Franklin & Bash follows the exploits of Jared Franklin and Peter Bash, two street wise lawyers who, after defeating the well known law firm of Infeld & Daniels, are recruited to work at the firm to boost their litigation department. The series is produced by Four Sycamore Productions, Left Coast Productions & FanFare Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television and stars Breckin Meyer, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Malcolm McDowell, Reed Diamond, Kumail Nanjiani and Dana Davis.
The fourth season of Franklin & Bash proved to be slightly controversial when it debuted in the US back in August as it was the first not to feature Dana Davis and Kumail Nanjiani, both of whom had been series regulars on the show since its pilot in 2011. To offset their departures, the show added two new regulars: Toni Trucks (Twilight), who plays new ambitious lawyer Anita Haskins; and Anthony Ordonez (The Good Wife) as quirky investigator Dan Mundy.
The quick premiere for the fourth season – within 3 months of the US debut – stands in stark contrast to the amount of time viewers had to wait before the third season hit the UK. Franklin & Bash was originally broadcast in the UK by E4, who aired the first two seasons in 2011 and 2012. However, it was revealed in June 2013 that a decision had been made under then Channel 4 Head of Acquisitions Gill Hay not to acquire the show’s third season for E4 given the series’ poor ratings performance on the channel.
That decision from E4 left the series without a UK broadcaster until Sony Entertainment Television acquired the series from sister company Sony Pictures Television in July 2014, with the show’s third season subsequently launching on the channel in August. For SET, Franklin & Bash‘s fourth season represents a key component of their Autumn schedule alongside the second season of Drop Dead Diva and the third season of Ashes To Ashes.
