Sky Vision has lined up a slew of deals with international broadcasters for Berlin Wall: The Night The Iron Curtain Closed.
The international distribution division of BSkyB has sold the one-0ff documentary to NTV in Germany, Planete Cable in France, AMC Networks International in Hungary, MTVA Hungary and The History Channel in Iberia.
Berlin Wall: The Night The Iron Curtain Closed charts the events which led to the construction of the wall, which split Berlin in two. The one-off documentary will utilise dramatic reconstructions, expert analysis, eyewitness reports, letters, diaries and personal photos. It will also feature an interview with Adam Kellett-Long, a Western journalist who witnessed the construction.
The documentary is an international co-production which is being produced by Sky Vision Production in association with UKTV, SBS Australia, S4c Wales and the American Heroes Channel in the United States. The special will air in the UK this November on UKTV’s specialist factual channel Yesterday.
