Lifetime UK Acquires NBC's Four-Hour Miniseries 'Rosemary's Baby' – TVWise

Lifetime UK is set to play host to Rosemary’s Baby.
The A+E Networks UK owned and operated channel has sealed a deal with Lionsgate Television to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to the four-hour NBC miniseries starring Suits alum Patrick J. Adams and Star Trek‘s Zoe Saldana, TVWise has learned.
Rosemary’s Baby centers on Rosemary and Guy Woodhouse, a young married couple who move into a Paris apartment that has a haunted past. After getting pregnant, Rosemary becomes increasingly suspicious that both her husband and their neighbors will have ulterior motives when her child is born.
A retelling of the novel and feature film of the same name, Rosemary’s Baby was penned by Scott Abbott & James Wong and directed by Agnieszka Holland. The Lionsgate Television produced miniseries stars Patrick J. Adams (Suits), Zoe Saldana (Star Trek), Jason Isaacs (Awake), Christina Cole (The Assets) and Carole Bouquet (For Your Eyes Only).
This marks the second major US miniseries that Lifetime UK has acquired since they launched last November. The female-skewing channel previously acquired three-hour mini Bonnie & Clyde, which premiered in February and drew an average consolidated audience of more than 190K viewers – ranking as one the channel’s highest ever rated scripted dramas.
The acquisition of Rosemary’s Baby – which is likely to be the last such UK deal for a scripted entry from the 2013-2014 US broadcast season – also comes less than 24 hours after Lifetime UK picked up the UK rights to the TV movie adaptation of Stephen King’s novella Big Driver, which is set to premiere on Thursday October 30th.
