The most recent season of The Walking Dead is heading to internet TV service NOW TV.
The fourth season of AMC’s zombie drama The Walking Dead is being added to the service on October 1st, when holders of the Entertainment Month Pass will be able to watch all 16 episodes ahead of the fifth season premiere on FOX UK on Monday October 13th. The first three seasons of The Walking Dead are currently available to stream on NOW TV.
Based on the graphic novel series by Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead was developed for television by Frank Darabont and follows a group of people, led by deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes, who are attempting to survive after an outbreak has led to the rise of the undead (known colloquially as walkers). The Walking Dead is produced by AMC Studios & Valhalla Motion Pictures and stars Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan. David Morrissey and Danai Gurira.
In the show’s fourth season, which has previously aired in the UK on FOX, Rick and the group are fostering a thriving community in the safe haven of the prison. Sadly, in this brutal world, happiness is short-lived and walkers and outside threats are no match for danger brewing inside the fences. The group’s home and new way of life will be thoroughly tested, and their struggle to survive has never been so perilous. Season 4 also introduces several new characters including Bob Stookey (Lawrence Gilliard Jr., The Wire).
To mark the arrival of the new season, NOW TV has created what they are calling the “ultimate snack-cessory” – a Brain Food Popcorn Bowl which is crafted in the likeness of one of the “walkers” from the series. In addition, they have also designed a special edition The Walking Dead NOW TV Box. While neither is available to buy, NOW TV is giving fans to chance to win both along with an Entertainment Month Pass. Details of how to enter the competition will be posted on the service’s Twitter feed in the coming weeks.
“We know The Walking Dead is hugely popular and with season 5 on its way, it was a no brainer for NOW TV to create the ultimate snack-cessory for fans that are dying to relive or discover seasons 1-4”, said Gidon Katz, Director of NOW TV. “Tucking into popcorn from the Brain Food Popcorn Bowl is the perfect way for people to keep their energy levels up as they gorge on all of the Walker action on NOW TV.”
