The Sun Orders Online Series From SPT's Gogglebox Entertainment – TVWise

The Sun has commissioned their first online series from an independent production company.
The newspaper has commissioned the Sony Pictures Television backed indie Gogglebox Entertainment to produce Man vs Fly, an online series which will air exclusively on The Sun’s website, TVWise has learned.
The 3 minute format, which has received a 15 episode order, feature running commentary from Pat Cowell and shows professional fly swatters, amateur punters and celebrities attempting to kill a fly in under a minute in a padded cell. If successful, the player takes home big prize money.
Some of the celebrities lined up for Man vs Fly include KSI, Louie Spence, Katie Hopkins and David McIntosh. The Gogglebox Entertainment produced series is directed by James Abadi and executive produced by Mat Steiner, Adam Wood and Sam Pollard. The first episode, featuring Katie Hopkins, will go live on The Sun’s website on October 2nd.
“Man v Fly is great, fun, irreverent content that is sure to capture the imagination of The Sun audience”, said David Robinson, The Sun’s Sales and Marketing Director. “The short, punchy video series stars a selection of Sun regulars (and Kellie Maloney), and we’re delighted with the final product, delivered by a superb team at Googlebox.”
While Mat Steiner, Joint Managing-Director of Gogglebox Entertainment, added: “Man vs Fly is an exciting new entertainment format and it’s fantastic to partner with The Sun for its premiere launch in the UK. We want to create compelling content across all platforms, and this is the first deal of hopefully many more to come.”
