The second season of ITV2’s ancient Rome comedy Plebs will premiere on Monday September 22nd at 10pm, with a double-bill, it has been announced.
Created by Sam Leifer and Tom Basden, Plebs is set in Ancient Rome and follows three under achievers, all of whom are on a desperate quest to live the ‘when in Rome’ mantra to the full in the empire’s most exciting city. The comedy series is produced by Rise Films and stars Tom Rosenthal (Friday Night Dinner), Joel Fry (White Van Man), Ryan Sampson (After You’ve Gone) and Doon Mackichan (Smack The Pony). In the opening episode of the show’s second season, the boys win big at a chariot race and it looks like their fortunes might have taken a turn for the better. Stylax decides to reinvent himself as a charioteer, Marcus prefers to spend his money on romantic pursuits, while Grumio gets nothing.
