BBC Two has released two new teaser images from the upcoming second season of The Fall.
The images in question show Gillian Anderson as Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson and Jamie Dornan as serial killer Paul Spector. The release of these new images follows last night’s BAFTA screening of the season two premiere and after BBC Two previously released an image of Anderson as Gibson and a trailer for the new season, which is set to premiere later this Autumn.
The show’s second season is poised to the pick up from the season one finale which saw serial killer Paul Spector evading the police investigation headed by Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson. A personal link from Spector’s past opens up some clues for Gibson but provokes Spector in ways that threatens to jeopardise the whole investigation. Gibson is forced to take ever greater risks but the closer she comes to capturing him, the more Spector trespasses into her private world, delighting in taunting and provoking her. As the net gradually tightens around him he becomes psychologically ever more dangerous and destructive.
The Fall was created by Allan Cubitt and is produced for BBC Two by Artists Studio, with Gillian Anderson, Stephen Wright, Allan Cubitt, Patrick Irwin and Justin Thomson-Glover serving as executive producers. In addition to Anderson and Dornan returning cast members include Archie Panjabi, Bronagh Waugh, Emmett Scanlan, Karen Hassan, John Lynch and Simon Delaney. Cast additions for season two, which was directed by Cubitt, include Claire Rafferty, Colin Morgan, Jonjo O’Neill, Patrick Fitzsymons, Bronágh Taggart and Tim Loane.
