UKTV’s Dave Channel Renews ‘Alan Davies As Yet Untitled’ For Second Season

UKTV’s Dave channel has renewed their comedy chat show Alan Davies As Yet Untitled for a second season, TVWise has learned.

Dave, which currently ranks as the UK’s number one non-PSB channel, has ordered ten episodes for the second season of Alan Davies As Yet Untitled, which is double the five episode order that the show received for its first season. The show’s second season is expected to air on Dave in early 2015.

Alan Davies As Yet Untitled see Davies, armed with one fact about each of his four guests, as they sit around a table and talk about anything. The guest on the show are a mix of A-list and up-and-coming talent. Each episode begins without a title, but by the end Alan and his guests will come up with an appropriate mantle which sums each episode up.

The unscripted show, which is shot before a live audience, is produced by Phil McIntyre Television in association with Grand Scheme, with Lucy Ansbro, Mark Robson and Graham Smith serving as executive producers. Dan Skinner is the director and series producer. The second season was commissioned by Dave’s General Manager Steve North and UKTV’s Commissioning Editor Iain Coyle.

“The simplicity of the Alan Davies As Yet Untitled format allows the genius of Alan in this environment to shine”, said UKTV’s Commissioning Editor Iain Coyle. “It’s great to be back working with one of the most professional production teams in the industry and once again put together one of the funniest shows on telly.”

While Dave’s General Manager Steve North added: “We are thrilled to have Alan returning to Dave following the success of As Yet Untitled’s first series.  The relaxed and insightful nature of the show made it genuinely funny for the viewers and I am excited to see what guests will appear this time round.”

The second season of Alan Davies As Yet Untitled is the latest programme commissioned by UKTV for Dave’s 2015 schedule. It follows on from the recent series order for Hoff The Record, a new mockumentary series fronted by Baywatch star David Hasselhoff. In addition to these commissions, Dave also has the fourth season of the USA Network legal dramedy Suits on tap for early 2015.
